The Weekly Outlook #3
Welcome to The Weekly Outlook with Isla Surf School where we provide a surf and weather breakdown for the week to help you target the best days in the water. You will also find some surfing news and local news/events in the mix.
Isla News: We have two bits of exciting news this week!
We are now teaching surf lessons on Isle of Palms! You can schedule private and group lessons at our new location by calling us at 843 813 7897.
We are offering open group classes at our Folly Beach location. There classes are intended to push your surfing forward in a social environment with a minimum party size of 1 to sign up.
Surf Forecast: Who scored yesterday? Hopefully you saw our instagram post on Saturday and surfed yourself out on Sunday! Looks likes like some good long boarding waves on tap for this week. Monday to Thursday all look fairly similar with surf in the knee to thigh range with the lightest winds on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday are looking a little small at the moment, but should be great for the kids. Thursday may have potential to be a sneaky fun day with Cindy swell filling in so keep an eye on that.
Best Bet: Wednesday morning for fun clean waves.
Weather Forecast: Our weather forecast is looking pretty great at the moment. This feels like the first real week of summer with temps in the high 80s. At the moment we’re not seeing too much thunderstorm activity, but don’t be surprised to see some afternoon thunderstorms to pop up throughout the week.
World of Surfing: The WSL Rio contest is underway. They’ve had one day of contestable waves on the first day of the waiting period and they’re now looking at a pretty pathetic forecast for the remaining window. Look for the contest to run later in the week. Certainly not the most exciting or jaw dropping conditions for a contest, but it’s also amazing to watch your favorite surfers in waves that we can find on Folly Beach.
