Covid-19 Safety Guidlines and Prevention

We are currently running our summer camps and teaching private lessons 7 days a week. While we believe operating in the open air, in the sun, and in the ocean is as safe as an activity can be during this pandemic, we are fully aware that Covid-19 cases are on the rise in the Charleston area. We will continue practicing the safety protocols we have had in place since March and as always will prioritize the safety and well being of our staff, campers, and private lesson clients.

Masks Requirement:

Beginning on July 1 all campers & clients will be required to check in at our admin tent wearing face masks to comply with new county and local mandates. Face masks must be worn by our staff, campers, and private lessons clients during anytime spent outside of the ocean. Masks are not required and will not be permitted to be worn during any water time during camp and lessons. Please help us comply and keep our staff and customers safe. Please be prepared to store your face mask in an appropriate manner.

Temperature Checks:

  1. All staff temperatures are taken each morning before works hours begin.

  2. All campers temperatures are taken each morning when checking into camp and before being permitted to join camp each day.

  3. All private lesson clients will have their temperatures taken before being permitted to participate in a lesson.

Minimizing Contact:

  1. We are asking all participants of camp and our private lessons to sign their waivers electronically.

  2. Please do not crowd our beach tents. Please space out (6 feet apart) in line while waiting to check in. Please be patient and help us operate in a safe and responsible manner.

  3. We have hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes for encouraged use at our beach desk.

Disinfecting Equipment:

  1. Camp rash-guards will be kept by each camper for the duration of camp and will be returned on Friday when they will be washed thoroughly.

  2. Private Lesson rash-guards are washed every-single day and are left drying in the sun to further ensure they are safe and clean.

  3. Surfboards are left in the sun in between lessons and wiped down with a disinfectant solution and at the end of each day the boards are washed, left in the sun to dry, and stored in our van which sits in direct sunlight for the remainder of the day.

  4. Each afternoon the contents of our work van are thoroughly sprayed down with disinfectant spray.
