The Warrior Surf Foundation and CNN

The Warrior Surf Foundation has had a huge year and we could not be more excited to be working side-by-side with them. CNN came to Charleston twice over the summer to interview founder, Andy Manzi, and some of the first participants in the program. They aired the two edits they made during primetime CNN as part of CNN's Heroes. It was a tremendous accomplishment and milestone for Andy and The Warrior Surf Foundation to be recognized by a prestigious organization like CNN.

What's even more incredible, Warrior Surf made the top ten heroes of the year. In mid December, Andy flew to NYC for the annual CNN Heroes dinner where the winning foundation/organization would be awarded 100k. Although Andy, and Warrior Surf did not take home the 100k, they were honored on national TV, Andy gave a speech, and Subaru USA is matching all donations made to Warrior Surf through January 7. Andy has worked tirelessly for the last two years to get Warrior Surf to the place it is today and so deserved all the praise from CNN and the rest of the country for his amazing work. Its amazing that a foundation founded locally on Folly Beach can make it so far due to the pure determination and dedication of a few people during the early stages and then from rallied support from the community.

We are so proud of Andy and Warrior Surf and feel honored to call him a friend and a partner. Isla Surf School partnered with The Warrior Surf Foundation in 2017 and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. We look forward to helping with camps, the surfing aspect, and any other help they may need down the road. Congratulations Andy! You should be so happy with the amazing strides you've taken and all of those you have helped. You're an amazing guy. See you in ten days!
